Padre Pio Novena Prayer 9 Days for a Miracle

About St. Padre Pio

St. Padre Pio, born Francesco Forgione in 1887 in Pietrelcina, Italy, was a humble Capuchin friar, priest, and mystic known for his deep prayer life, holiness, and the extraordinary spiritual gifts God gave him — including the stigmata, the wounds of Christ.

He was ordained a priest on August 10, 1910, and celebrated his first Mass on August 14, 1910, beginning a life completely offered to God. On September 20, 1918, while praying before a crucifix, the stigmata became visible on his body — wounds he would bear in humility and silence for the next 50 years.

Padre Pio spent long hours in the confessional, reading hearts and guiding countless souls back to God. His deep union with Christ, especially through suffering, brought comfort and healing to many. People from all over the world sought his prayers and intercession. His famous advice still resonates today:
“Pray, hope, and don’t worry.”

St. Padre Pio died on September 23, 1968. He was beatified on May 2, 1999, and canonized on June 16, 2002, by Pope John Paul II. He is honored as one of the most beloved saints in the Catholic Church.

Who was St. Padre Pio?

St. Padre Pio (born Francesco Forgione) was an Italian Capuchin Franciscan priest and mystic who lived from 1887 to 1968. He is one of the most beloved modern saints, famous for bearing the stigmata (the wounds of Christ) for 50 years.

Why is Padre Pio so famous?

He is known for his extraordinary gifts: the visible stigmata, bilocation (being in two places at once), reading souls in confession, healing miracles, prophecy, and a deep life of prayer and suffering offered for souls. He spent many hours each day hearing confessions and celebrating Mass with great devotion.

What is St. Padre Pio the patron saint of?

He is the official patron saint of:

  • Adolescents
  • Civil defense volunteers
  • Pietrelcina (his birthplace)
He is also widely invoked for stress relief, healing (body and soul), and those suffering from illness or spiritual trials.
Can I pray the Padre Pio Novena any time of the year?

Yes. While the most common time is before his feast day, you can start the novena at any time when you need his powerful intercession — especially during times of sickness, anxiety, or difficult decisions.

What kind of intentions is Padre Pio especially powerful for?

He is often invoked for:

  • Physical and spiritual healing
  • Relief from stress and anxiety
  • Conversion of sinners
  • Help with confession and repentance
  • Strength to carry daily crosses
  • Impossible causes
Did Padre Pio really perform miracles?

Yes. Thousands of miracles have been attributed to his intercession, both during his life and after his death. These include dramatic healings, conversions, and favors that doctors or others considered impossible. Many people report a sweet fragrance (like flowers) when he is near in spirit.

Do I need to be Catholic to pray to Padre Pio?

No. People from all Christian backgrounds and even non-Christians pray to him and report receiving graces through his intercession. He is a powerful friend and spiritual father to all who turn to him with faith.

What was Padre Pio’s most famous advice?

He often said:

  • “Pray, hope, and don’t worry.”
  • “The Rosary is the weapon for these times.”
He also strongly encouraged frequent confession and daily prayer.
What if my prayer is not answered exactly as I asked?

Trust in God’s greater plan. Padre Pio always brings graces — sometimes the exact favor requested, and sometimes something even better for the salvation of souls.

    Novena Prayer to Padre Pio
For a Miracle of Healing and Recovery for My Beloved Wife, Rafaela Choi

† In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Saint Padre Pio, faithful servant of God and compassionate intercessor for the suffering, pray for us.

    Dear Saint Padre Pio,
with a humble and trusting heart, I come before you
to ask for your powerful intercession for my beloved wife,
    Rafaela Choi.

On August 8, 2025, Rafaela suffered a severe brain hemorrhage
and underwent emergency brain surgery at Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital.
She has not yet regained consciousness and is currently receiving rehabilitation treatment.

    Saint Padre Pio,
you knew the suffering of the sick and those who were desperately in need of God’s mercy.
Please take Rafaela’s name before the throne of our merciful Lord
and ask Jesus to look upon her with compassion.

I humbly ask for a special grace and, if it is God’s holy will, a miracle of healing for Rafaela.

Please ask the Lord to awaken her from her unconscious state,
restore her brain and nervous system,
renew the strength of her body,
and help her gradually regain the ability to speak, move, and communicate.

May the Lord bless every treatment and rehabilitation she receives
and guide all the doctors, nurses, therapists, and caregivers who care for her.

    Saint Padre Pio,
please remain close to Rafaela and protect her from every danger.
Comfort her in her suffering and surround her with the peace and love of Jesus.

I also ask you to strengthen my faith
so that I may continue to trust in God even when the road is difficult
and the answer to my prayers seems far away.

    Padre Pio,
I place before you this most urgent and heartfelt intention:

    Please intercede for Rafaela Choi.
Please ask Jesus for the miracle of her healing.
Please ask that she may regain consciousness,
    recover her strength,
and return to a life in which she can speak, move, and share love with her family.

Yet, above all, I surrender Rafaela completely to God’s loving hands.
May everything be accomplished according to God’s holy will and perfect plan.

If the Lord grants the miracle for which I pray,
may all glory, honor, and thanksgiving be given to God.

    Saint Padre Pio,
    pray for Rafaela.
    Pray for her healing.
    Pray for her recovery.
Pray for a miracle according to God’s will.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in You.
Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for Rafaela.
Saint Padre Pio, pray for Rafaela Choi.

    † Our Father
    † Hail Mary
    † Glory Be

Saint Padre Pio, pray for us.
Saint Padre Pio, pray for Rafaela Choi.
    Jesus, have mercy on her.
    Jesus, heal her.

† In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Please Padre Pio pray for my father who is in his 80s and is being bullied and intimidated by a distant relative over an old house attached to my father’s home.
Please pray that this will be resolved soon as it is affecting my father’s health.
In your hands and care I leave this worry. Amen.

3 Day Novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel (Never Known to Fail) Oh, most beautiful flower of Mount Carmel, fruitful vine, splendor of Heaven. Blessed Mother of the Son of God; Immaculate Virgin, assist me in my necessity. Oh, Star of the Sea, help me and show me you are my Mother. Oh, Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and Earth, I humbly beseech you from the bottom of my heart to succour me in my necessity (make request). There are none that can withstand your power.
Oh, Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee (Say 3 times).
Holy Mary, I place this prayer in your hands. (Say 3 times) Amen.

Oh Padre Pio, true and loyal servant of God, in the name of our beloved Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, please pray for us that our Mother the Blessed Virgin Mary may pour out God’s graces upon us so that we may surrender our wills to the Divine Will of God to the utmost of our abilities in all things now and forever. To Jesus through the Blessed Virgin Mary with the protection and guidance of God’s loyal Archangels Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, Amen.
