”Peace be with you”
“Jesus came and stood among them and said, ‘Peace be with you.’ After he said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.” -John 20:19-20

Reflection:
Imagine the room. Doors locked. Fear thick in the air. The disciples are hiding, unsure what’s next—grief still fresh, hope starting to crack.
And then—Jesus walks in. No judgment. No lectures. Just this:
“Peace be with you.”
He doesn’t shame them for running away. He doesn’t bring up their failures. He shows them His wounds… and offers peace.
That’s our Jesus. Risen, but still tender. Glorious, but still gentle.
Maybe today you’re carrying fear. Or failure. Maybe you feel locked up inside your own doubts. But the Risen Christ still walks through those locked doors. And He still says, “Peace be with you.”
The same Jesus who met the disciples in their fear wants to meet you in yours—today.
Prayer for Day 3 of the Easter Octave:
Lord Jesus,
You met Your disciples in their fear.
You stood in the middle of their brokenness and offered peace.
Do that for me today.
Walk into the locked places in my heart—
into my anxiety, my regrets, the parts of me I hide.
I open the door to You. Or if I can’t…
please just walk through it anyway.
Show me Your wounds.
Remind me that You conquered death—
not just for the world, but for me.
Let that truth sink in.
Jesus, You are alive.
Help me live like I believe that.
Give me Your peace—the kind that the world can’t give
and the world can’t take away.
Amen
