What is Saint Vincent Ferrer known for?
St. Vincent Ferrer (1350–1419) was born in Valencia, Spain, and joined the Dominican Order as a young man. Renowned for his fiery sermons and deep holiness, he traveled across Europe—France, Italy, Germany, and beyond—calling the faithful to repentance and peace during the tumult of the Western Schism. Vincent bore the sign of the Cross on his chest from a vision of Christ, and numerous miracles—healings, conversions, and even raising the dead—attested to his powerful intercession. He worked tirelessly to reconcile warring factions within the Church and to bring souls back to God. Canonized in 1455, St. Vincent Ferrer remains a model of zeal for souls, apostolic charity, and trust in divine mercy.
