A Life of Humility and Holiness

Saint Germaine Cousin was a poor, disabled young girl from Pibrac, France. Born with a deformed hand and suffering from illness, she was mistreated by her stepmother and forced to sleep in the barn. Despite her suffering, Germaine lived a life of deep faith and gentleness, praying the Rosary daily and attending Mass whenever she could, even though she was often forbidden.

She worked as a shepherdess, and many noticed that the animals in her care were never harmed, even when she left them unattended to attend Mass. She showed incredible charity to the poor, often sharing her meager food, and lived with joyful trust in God.

Germaine died quietly at age 22, and years later, her body was found incorrupt. Many miracles were attributed to her intercession, and she became a symbol of holiness in suffering and simplicity.

Prayer to St. Germaine Cousin:

St. Germaine, humble and patient in suffering,
pray for all who feel forgotten, mistreated, or alone.
Help us to love with the heart of Christ,
even when we are rejected or unseen. Amen.
