Breakfast with the Risen Jesus
The Easter celebration keeps unfolding, not with fireworks or loud trumpets, but with moments that are quiet, intimate, and surprisingly down-to-earth. Today’s Gospel (John 21:1–14) is a perfect example. It’s sunrise. The disciples are back to fishing—back to what they knew before Jesus changed everything.
They’ve been out all night, and they’ve caught nothing. Then, as the light begins to break, a man on the shore calls out, “Try the other side.” They do—and suddenly, the net is overflowing. John leans in and says, “It is the Lord.” Peter doesn’t hesitate. He jumps into the water, eager just to be near Him.
And when they get to shore, Jesus has made breakfast. Think about that for a moment. The risen Christ—glorious, victorious over death—is cooking fish over a charcoal fire. He invites them to eat.
It’s simple. It’s holy. It’s so beautifully human.

Reflection: This is a God who meets us in the ordinary. When we feel tired, when our efforts seem fruitless, when we go back to the familiar because we don’t know what else to do—He’s there. Calling gently from the shore. Waiting with warmth and kindness. Preparing a place for us, not in a palace, but at a breakfast by the sea.
Let today be about recognizing the quiet presence of Jesus in your daily life. Not just in the big, miraculous moments—but in the simple ones. In meals shared, in early mornings, in small acts of kindness.
Prayer: Jesus, Risen Lord, help me hear Your voice in the stillness. Help me recognize You on the shoreline of my everyday life. And when I feel like nothing is working, remind me that You are near, already preparing something good for me. Thank You for loving me in both the miraculous and the mundane. Amen.

Leave us your prayers…
