Bishop, Patron Saint of Protection from Bad Weather
St. Medard was born around the year 456 in France and became known for his deep compassion and wisdom. As a young man, he was drawn to a life of holiness and study, eventually becoming a priest and later the Bishop of Noyon.
One of the most well-loved stories about him tells of how, as a child, an eagle spread its wings over him during a heavy rainstorm, shielding him from the rain — a symbol of God’s protection. Because of this, St. Medard became the patron saint of protection from storms and bad weather.
As a bishop, he was known for his generosity, especially to the poor and suffering. He led with humility and was a spiritual father to many.
Prayer to St. Medard
St. Medard, gentle shepherd and faithful servant of Christ,
pray for us in times of fear and uncertainty.
Intercede for us that we may be protected from the storms of life
both in the sky and in our hearts.
May we, like you, trust in God’s loving care. Amen.

Leave us your prayers…
