One Minute Catechism: What Are We Commanded by the Fourth Commandment?

Question: What are we commanded by the Fourth Commandment?
Answer: The Fourth Commandment — “Honor your father and your mother” — commands us to love, respect, and obey our parents and lawful superiors. It also calls us to show gratitude, care, and support for them, especially in their needs and old age.

Scripture:
“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which the Lord your God gives you.” — Exodus 20:12

Reflection:
Lord, give me a heart of love and respect for my parents and all who care for me, as You were obedient to Mary and Joseph.
