Short Biography
Saint Mary Salome was one of the holy women who faithfully followed Jesus during His ministry. She is traditionally identified as the mother of the Apostles James and John, and a devoted disciple who served the Lord with love and generosity.
She was present at the Crucifixion, standing near the Cross when many others had fled. Her faith did not waver in the face of suffering. On Easter morning, she was among the women who went to the tomb to anoint the body of Jesus, only to discover that He had risen. Because of her fidelity, she is counted among the first witnesses of the Resurrection.
Her life reminds us of quiet but steadfast devotion—serving Christ not in great public acts, but in daily faithfulness and love.

Saint Mary Salome is often remembered as one of the “Myrrh-bearing women,” who brought spices to the tomb of Jesus on Easter morning.

O Saint Mary Salome,
faithful follower of Christ,
you remained near Him even in His suffering.
Teach us to love Jesus with steadfast hearts,
to remain faithful in times of trial,
and to serve Him with humility and devotion.
Pray for us, that we too may share
in the joy of the Resurrection
and live always in the light of Christ.
