For the Memorial of Saints Charles Lwanga and Companions
O God, who have made the blood of Martyrs
the seed of Christians,
mercifully grant that the field which is your Church,
watered by the blood shed by Saint Charles Lwanga and his companions,
may be fertile and always yield you an abundant harvest. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.

A short devotional prayer to the saints:
Saint Charles Lwanga and Companions,
you remained faithful to Christ amid terrible persecution,
protecting the young pages and refusing to betray your faith even under threat of death.
Help us to stand firm in purity, courage, and fidelity to Jesus,
especially when it costs us dearly.
Pray for the youth of Africa and the whole world,
that we may all be bold witnesses to the Gospel.
Amen.
