How hopeless does the world seem from your perspective?
How hopeless does your life seem?
Are you overcome with worry and fear?
Do you wonder if what seems impossible from where you are standing can be done?
Hear this great truth…
God is able to bring hope into your life even when everything seems hopeless.
No matter how the odds are stacked against you and no matter hopeless your situation appears, God can do what needs to be done when it needs to be done. Your job is to have the faith.
His job is to do bring about His best in your life. Will you trust Him to do that?
When Jesus approached Bethany after His good friend Lazarus had died, Jesus met the sisters of Lazarus, Martha then Mary. When conversing with Martha, Jesus informed her that her brother would rise again. Martha thought Jesus was speaking about the spiritual resurrection that would come at the time. Jesus replied to Martha:
“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live,
even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.
Do you believe this?” (John 11, 25-26, NIV).
Martha shows her faith by stating that she does believe and that she also believes that Jesus is the Messiah and Son of God. Martha, not knowing what Jesus was going to do, shows her faith by acknowledging that
Jesus can do whatever needs to be done.
Are you facing a situation that is so overwhelming and impossible that the only way anything will happen is if God steps in and does it?
You may feel as helpless as Martha and Mary did when their brother died. When you are in that kind of situation, the best thing to do, and maybe the only thing you can do, is to totally trust God to do what only He can do.
Your responsibility is to have faith. God’s responsibility is to do the best thing that can be done.
Maybe your circumstances seem impossible and hopeless. Remember what Jesus did with Lazarus. He raised Lazarus from the dead.
Recognize that God can do anything. Walk in that faith.
Another time, Jesus was talking with disciples about what it takes to be saved. In Matthew 19, after Jesus asked the rich young ruler to sell everything that he had and give it to the poor, the man went away sad because he was very wealthy. What Jesus asked of him was too much for him to do. Jesus turned to His disciples and stated that it is very difficult
for someone who is rich to get into heaven. The disciples wondered who could be saved then.
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible,
but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26, NIV).
The question Jesus asked Martha is the same question Jesus asks us:
Do you believe this? (John 11:26, NIV).
Do you believe that Jesus can do the impossible in your hopeless situation?
That is the faith that God calls us to have. To trust Him to do the impossible.
He can. Do you believe He can?
Jesus Bless You a
Thank you very much for this reminder from the time of Mary and Martha. I believe that Jesus is the son of God and He is the healer. Nothing is impossible in Him and I pray for may faith to always be as strong today.
