About Our Lady of Pompeii
Our Lady of Pompeii is a beloved Marian devotion centered in Pompeii, Italy, and closely linked to the power of the Holy Rosary. This devotion spread in the 19th century through the work of Blessed Bartolo Longo, a former skeptic who experienced a profound conversion and dedicated his life to promoting the Rosary.
With deep faith, Bartolo Longo built the Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary in Pompeii, placing there a simple yet grace-filled image of the Virgin Mary holding the Child Jesus and offering the Rosary to the faithful. Many miracles and answered prayers were reported, and devotion to Our Lady of Pompeii quickly spread around the world.
Today, she is honored as a powerful intercessor, especially for those seeking help in times of difficulty, and as a mother who leads all her children closer to Jesus through the Rosary.
