About Our Lady of Walsingham
Our Lady of Walsingham is one of England’s oldest and most beloved Marian devotions. According to tradition, in 1061, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to Richeldis de Faverches, a noblewoman living in the village of Walsingham, England. Mary asked her to build a replica of the Holy House of the Annunciation in Nazareth, where the Angel Gabriel announced that she would become the Mother of Jesus.
