Seek First the Kingdom of God

 Kingdom of God

The kingdom of God is a wonderful place – everyone wants to be part of God’s kingdom! It is where Jesus is the King and Ruler of all. The Kingdom of God originates in heaven and extends to earth through people who are submitted to God’s rule in their daily life. People of every nation belong for a place where things are done right, where there is joy and peace and love. That is a description of God’s Kingdom.

Seek First the Kingdom of God

Jesus said, “Seek first the kingdom of God and all these things (your material needs) will be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33) When we put God first in our decisions each day, we are seeking the rule and reign of His kingdom. We are partnering with Him to bring heaven to earth! It is an exciting thing and there are great rewards for those who do this.

What is the Kingdom of God

The kingdom of God is the rule and reign of God – it is where God is in charge. It is all around us and yet it is also within us. Jesus said, “The kingdom of God is among you.” (Luke 17:21) You see the kingdom demonstrated among us when people love each other like Jesus loves – unconditionally (without selfishness). The kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy (Romans 14:17).

God’s Kingdom

When you choose to follow Jesus, you become a citizen of God’s kingdom. You do what is right. You love people. This makes you a peaceful person and a joy to be around. People begin to experience what it is like when God is in charge – this is a foretaste of heaven. Hopefully, your example of righteousness, peace and joy will inspire them to join God’s kingdom too!

 Heaven on Earth

Heaven is a very real place – it is full of God’s love, peace and joy. There is no crime in heaven, no violence, no pain or suffering. Jesus taught us to pray, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done.” (Matthew 6:10) Can you imagine how wonderful it would be if God’s kingdom filled the earth with love, peace and joy? God’s kingdom comes first into our hearts as we choose to make God in charge of our lives. Then it comes among us as we begin to love our neighbor and do what is right. If everyone did that, we would experience heaven on earth.

Jesus bless you all
