Carlo Acutis Story
Carlo Acutis was a young Italian teenager with a deep love for the Eucharist and a heart on fire for God. Born on May 3, 1991, in London and raised in Milan, Carlo had a joyful spirit, a kind soul, and a surprising devotion to his faith from an early age. Though his parents weren’t particularly religious, Carlo asked to go to daily Mass, pray the Rosary, and spend time in Eucharistic Adoration.
A tech-savvy youth, Carlo used his computer skills to build a website documenting Eucharistic miracles from around the world. He once said, “The Eucharist is my highway to heaven,” and believed that God should be at the center of one’s life.
At just 15 years old, Carlo was diagnosed with leukemia. He offered his suffering for the Pope and for the Church, saying, “I offer all the suffering I will have to undergo for the Lord, for the Pope, and the Church.” He died on October 12, 2006.
Carlo was beatified on October 10, 2020, in Assisi, Italy—the city of his beloved St. Francis. He is the first millennial to be beatified and is a powerful witness to young people that holiness is possible in today’s world.
