Patronage: All humanity, the dying, and the city of Genoa
Feast Day: August 15
Today, the Church celebrates the glorious Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God, into Heaven—body and soul—at the end of her earthly life. This belief, long held by Christian tradition, was solemnly defined as dogma by Pope Pius XII in 1950.
The Assumption is not only a celebration of Mary’s unique role in salvation history but also a sign of hope for all believers, reminding us of our own call to share in the glory of the Resurrection. As the first to fully share in her Son’s victory over sin and death, Mary now intercedes for us from Heaven, guiding us closer to Christ.
Prayer:
O Blessed Virgin Mary, assumed into Heaven, pray for us that we may one day share in the joy of eternal life with your Son.

Leave us your prayers…
