Lord Jesus Christ,
after Your glorious Ascension into Heaven,
You promised not to leave us alone,
but to send the Holy Spirit upon Your people.
As the Apostles and the Blessed Virgin Mary
waited in prayer in the Upper Room in Jerusalem,
help us also to prepare our hearts
to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Fill us with:
- wisdom to follow Your will
- understanding to know Your truth
- courage during difficulties
- peace in moments of fear
- and love for God and for one another
Holy Spirit, renew our hearts each day.
Teach us to live with joy, hope, and faith
as we journey toward our eternal home in Heaven.
May every day bring us closer to Jesus,
and may we never grow tired of prayer,
trust, and love.
