About the Nativity of Mary
The Nativity of Mary is celebrated each year on September 8, exactly nine months after the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. This feast honors the birth of the Mother of our Lord, the dawn of salvation for the world. While Scripture does not record the details of Mary’s birth, ancient tradition tells us her parents were Saints Joachim and Anne, who received her as a miraculous gift after years of childlessness.
