About Our Lady of Fatima
Our Lady of Fatima appeared to three shepherd children—Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta—in Fatima, Portugal, in 1917. Between May and October, the Blessed Virgin Mary visited them six times, delivering messages of prayer, penance, and conversion for the salvation of souls and peace in the world.
She specifically asked the children—and the world—to pray the Rosary daily, offer sacrifices for sinners, and trust in her Immaculate Heart. On October 13, during the final apparition, the Miracle of the Sun occurred, witnessed by a crowd of over 70,000 people, confirming the heavenly origin of her visits.
Later, through Sister Lucia, Our Lady also requested the Five First Saturdays Devotion—a practice of attending Mass, going to Confession, praying the Rosary, and meditating for 15 minutes on the mysteries of the Rosary on the first Saturday of five consecutive months—all in reparation to her Immaculate Heart.
Her message remains a powerful call to return to God, pray fervently, and trust in her maternal intercession. The Church celebrates her feast on May 13.
