What is St. Gabriel the Archangel known for?
Saint Gabriel is one of the three Archangels mentioned in Scripture, known as God’s messenger. His name means “God is my strength”. Gabriel is most famous for announcing to the Virgin Mary that she would conceive and bear Jesus, the Savior of the world (Luke 1:26–38).
He reminds us that God communicates with His people and guides us in important moments of life. Gabriel also appeared to Zechariah to foretell the birth of John the Baptist, showing that God’s plans unfold through His messengers.
