Day 26: 40 Days of Lent 2025

In the Gospel, we see Jesus reminding us that true conversion comes from within. He urges us to not just give up food or material things but to surrender our hearts to Him, to transform our desires and attitudes. It is not about outward appearances but about internal renewal. Lent is a time to return to the simplicity of the gospel, to ask for God’s help in purifying our hearts and to seek His forgiveness with a humble and contrite spirit.

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. -Psalm 51:10

On this 26th day of Lent, let us reflect on how we have been growing in our relationship with God. Have we allowed our Lenten practices to transform us? Are we more aware of God’s presence in our daily lives? Let us ask for the grace to persevere in our spiritual commitments, to continue walking with Jesus, and to be ready to witness His resurrection in a deeper way this Easter.

Prayer:

Loving Father,
As I approach the end of this Lenten journey, I come before You with a heart full of gratitude. Thank You for Your abundant grace, Your constant presence, and the opportunities You give me to grow closer to You. I know I have faltered along the way, but I trust in Your mercy to guide me back to Your loving embrace.

“Let no one mourn that he has fallen again and again: for forgiveness has risen from the grave!”  –St. John Chrysostom

Make this Lent the best of your life (Prayer, Fasting, Repent, Almsgiving).

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. -Matthew 5:16
