(April 4, 2025)
In today’s Gospel, we may hear Jesus call us to a deeper commitment to follow Him. The journey isn’t always easy, and there are times when the path seems steep and difficult. Yet, Jesus promises that He is with us in our struggles. Like a gardener tending to a vine, He carefully prunes us, removing what does not bear fruit in order that we may grow stronger in faith and love. This pruning is sometimes uncomfortable, but it is necessary for our spiritual growth.
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. -John 15:5
Prayer:
We pray for the wisdom to recognize the areas of our lives that need to be transformed and the grace to accept the changes You desire. May this season of Lent draw us closer to You, and may we grow in love, humility, and holiness. Amen
“Lent is like a long ‘retreat’ during which we can turn back into ourselves and listen to the voice of God, in order to defeat the temptations of the Evil One.” -Pope Benedict XVI
Make this Lent the best of your life (Prayer, Fasting, Repent, Almsgiving).
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. -Matthew 5:16
