(April 18, 2025)
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
— Psalm 34:18
By Day 39 of Lent, you’d think we’d have it all together.
But honestly? Sometimes it’s still a struggle.
You might be feeling spiritually dry.
Maybe you haven’t fasted perfectly.
Maybe you’ve fallen short in ways that are hard to admit.
But here’s something real and deeply comforting:
Jesus isn’t pulling away from you—He’s coming closer.
This is the week He rides into Jerusalem knowing exactly what’s ahead.
He knows the betrayal. The silence. The pain.
And still… He shows up.
So if you’re coming to Him today feeling a little broken, discouraged, or behind on your Lenten goals—you’re not disqualified. You’re exactly the kind of person He came for.
He doesn’t need your perfection. He just wants your presence.
Prayer:
Jesus,
I don’t have much to offer today—just a heart that’s a little weary, a little distracted, and still in need of Your mercy.
But I’m here.
Thank You for not giving up on me.
Thank You for coming close, even when I feel far.
As You walk toward the cross, help me walk with You—one honest step at a time.
Teach me to love like You do: not just in big gestures, but in quiet faithfulness.
Prepare my heart to enter Holy Week with reverence and hope.
I want to stay close to You. Please stay close to me.
Amen.
Mount Calvary is the academy of love. – St. Francis de Sales
Make this Lent the best of your life (Prayer, Fasting, Repent, Almsgiving).
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. -Matthew 5:16
