esus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” -John 8:12
Jesus calls Himself the light of the world. It’s not just poetic—it’s deeply personal. Light guides, it warms, it reveals. But it also exposes. And sometimes, that’s the hard part. The closer we get to the light, the more we start to see what needs healing, what needs to be forgiven, what needs to be changed.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus,
You are the Light I didn’t know I needed,
The clarity in my confusion,
The warmth in my coldness,
The hope in my shadows.
Shine Your light into every hidden place in me.
He who possesses God lacks nothing: God alone suffices.” St. Teresa of Ávila
Make this Lent the best of your life (Prayer, Fasting, Repent, Almsgiving).
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. -Matthew 5:16
