What is St. Faustina known for?
St. Faustina Kowalska (1905–1938) was a humble Polish nun of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy. Chosen by Christ as the “Apostle of Divine Mercy,” she received extraordinary visions and messages from Jesus, who asked her to spread devotion to His Divine Mercy through the image, the Chaplet, and the Feast of Divine Mercy. Despite her simple background and hidden life, she became the instrument through which the world was reminded of God’s infinite mercy. She was canonized in 2000 by Pope John Paul II.
